Mel & Jake met through the same friendship group at their local bar in West London. Jake approached Mel rudely mid conversation, demanding that she tell him who she was and where she was from as he had never seen her with this group before.
Mel shut Jake down very quickly by telling him “you’re interrupting my conversation!”
Jake responded eagerly with ” Thats okay, ill wait “
Their first date was dinner and drinks at a Jamaican restaurant called ‘Rum Kitchen’. They ate jerk chicken and tried various rum cocktails from around the world. Despite their initial meeting, they hit it off well and the rest is history.
Mel & Jake got engaged along the Murray River at Big Tom’s Beach, Mel’s favorite spot growing up. The proposal went down in front of both of their families.
Mel & Jake chose to get married along the Murray River in Echuca at the beautiful Radcliffe’s—a beautiful large space that has vines growing though out which ended up being an ideal back-up ceremony location due to all of the rain during planning days before!
Their top tip for anyone planning a wedding is: don’t be afraid to go against tradition!
