When Kate and Ben met, Kate was 15 and Ben was 17.
They were at an Australia Day party at the weir with friends when the sparks flew. From then on, they spent every moment they could together—whether it was skipping school or their casual jobs at Hungry Jacks for Ben. Fun fact: Ben even lost his casual job at Hungry Jacks because he kept no-showing to his shifts to hang out with Kate!
They got engaged on New Year’s Eve surrounded by family at a Farm-stay they had booked. The style they chose for their Olive Hills Estate wedding was neutral greens—a cocktail set-up with olive trees in the background. Olive Hills in Rutherglen was the perfect setting, and stylists The Spare Sisters and The Real Florist truly brought their vision to life.
What they wanted most out of the day was to be in the moment, taking it all in and celebrating with all of their loved ones. Oh, and of course a few celebratory champagnes! Their pro tip to other couples getting married is relax! Don’t sweat the small things. This should be an enjoyable time; if things don’t go according to plan, embrace it—there is always another way!
